The West Coast Is The Best Coast

Give me the traffic! Is that really all people think about when they hear "L.A."?!? They must forget that our freeways run along our beautiful valleys and beaches, thousands of palm trees and are surrounded by our sunny skies!!! We have plenty of stores with TONS of options.... No matter what you're in the market for! All week I keep hearing about how "people" don't have traffic where they are from. Lets not forget everything else that is not available everywhere else. I seriously went to pick up some dry cleaning and there was also a fried chicken place, a gourmet hot dog place, a salad place, a coupler fast food joints, a yoga studio and a dentist all right there in the same complex! I love all the culture that is surrounding me at all times!!!

When I go on vacation I always see traffic and wonder if people just don't realize they're sitting in it because its not wasting their "vacation time". But it's there people.

There is A LOT I wish we had here. But I'm pretty happy with everything just the way it is!

New York is....

NOT LA.

I just spent the last 2 weeks in NY and Chicago.  Exhausted does not even start to express how I feel! But do you know what does? FULL! (And if inneedofafootmassage was a word, THAT would be the primary feeling!)

I went with my brother to visit my sister in NY and at one point we literally thought someone had stolen our cards! ....then we realized that it was all food....that we had eaten....-awkward-

We really ate our way through NY though! From the original Halal Guys (who had remarkable gyro and chicken bowls) to Magnolia Bakery (with unforgettable red velvet cheesecake and a banana pudding to die for) and every stop in between!

We definitely went to just about every major stop and all the famous neighborhoods.  We even had a chance to see Paul Rudd preform on Broadway! It was amaaaazing!

But CHICAGO! CHI CITY! That's is what I call "vacation"! All the glitz and glam of NY without all the crazy hustle and bustle....(and they have Magnolia Bakery too)! We enjoyed two night at The Hyatt right by the lake and two more nights downtown at The Intercontinental. Ugh!  The Michael Jordan Steakhouse was IN OUR HOTEL! Can you say "room service"? We sure did!! (The garlic bread with blue cheese fondue sauce is so good it should be on bucket lists!)

Well, pictures are soon to come! For now I have to get back to baking. I have prep work to do for The O.C. Chocolate Festival and Zaarly is sending over a photographer to get pictures of my baking on Tuesday! Busy, BUSY week ahead!

I hope your goes as well as mine!

Carmageddon Kills L.A.

So Sunday was our second coming of the ultra-ridiculous "Carmageddon". That's where one of our major freeways (the 405) partially closes for construction during one weekend.

Partially.

 ONE.

Weekend.

And people thought only rain made Angelinos forget how to drive. Nope! Apparently construction does it too -_-

Well, luckily I was staying away from all that and just baking my heart out! I was asked to do  makeup at a fashion show and was lucky enough to be given a vending opportunity.  So you better believe I jumped on that!

I decided to make cheesecake and truffles. Not just plain cheesecake and chocolate truffles, NO.  The cheesecakes were Pumpkin and Oreo. Then the truffles were Red Velvet covered in bittersweet chocolate and dusted in gold and Cake Batter covered in white chocolate and topped with colorful non perils.  The table was a hit and the decorations were adooorable (if I do say so myself).

 How yummy?

Today though, a photographer came to shoot my pictures for my storefront that is going to be featured on Zaarly.com when it launches it's Los Angeles site coming up this month! Very fun! I'm always on the other side of the camera.... plus, I didn't have anyone to do my makeup.  Not as glam as the usual photo shoots I'm on, but definitely more fun!

I also just found out that I am boarding a 7 a.m. flight TOMORROW to New York to go see my little sister.  I'm so SO excited!!!  Fabulous, fun pictures to come!  I had an awesome week and hope you all did too!

XOXO
